Pechiparai Reservoir is an artificial water body, situated near the Pechiparai village in Kanyakumari. This reservoir impounds water of the Pechiparai Dam, which is built across the Kodayar River. It was constructed between 1897 and 1906, when Maharaja Moolam Thirunal ruled Travancore. Minchin, a European engineer, was behind the designing and implementation of this masonry dam. The construction of this dam and reservoir was done a mile below the meeting point of Kuttiyar, Kallar and Chittar – the three tributaries of the Kodayar River.
